Visa Application – Entry Requirements for Conference Participants

International participants attending the conference in Thailand are advised to review the following visa requirements and entry procedures prior to travel.

Visa Exemption

Thailand grants visa exemption to eligible nationalities for short-term visits, including conference participation. Effective 15 September 2026, the permitted stay under this exemption was shortened from 60 days to 30 days for most eligible nationalities (with limited exceptions — for example, Mauritius and Seychelles remain at 15 days). A small number of nationalities that previously qualified for visa exemption now require a visa to enter Thailand.

As UAA 2027 takes place in September 2027, participants should check their nationality’s current visa-exemption status before travel rather than relying on older (pre-2026) visa-free lists.

Visa Requirement

Participants whose nationalities are not eligible for visa exemption or Visa on Arrival must obtain a visa prior to travel from a Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General.

An official invitation letter issued by the conference organizers may be used to support the visa application process.

Important Notes:

  • Passports must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the date of entry.
  • Visa processing times vary by country; early application is strongly recommended.
  • Entry requirements are subject to change; participants should consult the nearest Thai diplomatic mission for the most up-to-date information.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

Since 1 May 2025, all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land, or sea are required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
The TDAC is an online form that replaces the former paper-based arrival card (TM.6). Travelers must complete it at the official website https://tdac.immigration.go.th
— the form must be submitted within 3 days (72 hours) before the arrival date; it cannot be submitted earlier than that window.

Note: Beware of unofficial third-party websites that mimic the TDAC form and charge a fee. The official TDAC registration is free and only available at tdac.immigration.go.th.
